The Wendy House

The Wendy House is a charming 1960s cedar wood chalet, tastefully renovated in 2017, blending luxurious comfort with a traditional ‘Wendy House’ style. Situated in a tranquil, family-run site just a 10-minute stroll from the beach, it offers a peaceful retreat ideal for families, friends, couples, or solo travellers. Without WiFi, it encourages guests to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with the world around them through conversations, walks, and games.

The chalet, filled with vintage decor and photography, transforms seasonally into The Winter Wendy House from October, featuring velvet cushions, fur throws, and battery-operated candlelight for a cosy, festive atmosphere. It boasts a well-equipped kitchen with a beautiful natural slate floor, wood effect tiled shower, and quality bed linen, including some vintage pillowcases for a touch of nostalgia. Thermostatically controlled electric radiators and an electric stove ensure warmth throughout the year.

Outside, the veranda offers comfortable wicker furniture and outdoor lighting. Children can play and explore the nearby area, which includes a spot for making dens and a ‘mud kitchen’. Traditional games and family board games are also provided.

The Wendy House is uniquely managed by the owner, ensuring personal touches and high standards of cleanliness and comfort. It can also be booked alongside The Summerhouse for larger groups. Guests have exclusive access to the chalet, with steps leading from the parking area to the front door. No pets or smoking are allowed, and essential items like towels, tea towels, cleaning products, and a welcome pack are provided. Guests are requested to bring their own travel cot due to Covid precautions.
