About this stay

An architecturally designed A-frame cabin on a private 7 acre plot in the South Downs National Park, about 30 minutes from Brighton. The cabin runs entirely on solar energy and sits in its own field and woodland, with a mezzanine level and large windows that flood the living space with light. A woodburning stove handles winter, and in summer the deck extends the living area into the field.

The Knepp Estate rewilding project is nearby, along with several of Sussex's better vineyards. Dogs are welcome with an enclosed field for exercise. At 4.99 from 110 reviews, it is delivering consistently. The off-grid solar setup gives it genuine environmental credentials rather than just the appearance of them.

What we love

We love that it runs on solar and sits in its own 7 acre plot in a national park. The combination of architectural ambition and genuine off-grid living is rare at this scale.
