An eco friendly studio on the edge of Bellabeg village in the Cairngorms National Park, overlooking the Nochty River and the Doune of Invernochty. Nochty Studio runs almost entirely on a wood burning stove for heat, with excellent insulation keeping energy use minimal. There is no television and no WiFi by design, though a strong 4G signal is available. Binoculars and a bird book replace the usual screen based entertainment.
The open plan layout places a double bed, living area, and kitchen in a single space with river views. At £168 per night, it is priced at the higher end for a compact studio, but the Cairngorms location, the deliberate simplicity, and the quality of finish justify it. Pet friendly for up to two animals, with a five minute walk to the village shop and a mile to the nearest bar at Lonach Hall.
We love the deliberate absence of WiFi and TV. In a national park this beautiful, binoculars and a bird book are the right call.
Reviewers collectively praised the stunning views and deemed it a beautiful place for a short stay.
