The Old Farm Office leans into simplicity: no running water in the hut itself, no shower (hot flannel wash kits provided instead), no TV, and no WiFi. A wood burner with two evenings' worth of firewood, a squishy sofa, and romantic lighting define the interior. The private WC and sink are in a separate building nearby.
At £83 per night, this is firmly at the budget end, and the host has layered on bookable extras to build a fuller experience: a hot tub and outdoor shower for hire, goat yoga, working sheepdog experiences, and guided farm mornings. The farm at Cronkshaw Fold is the real product here, with the hut serving as a base from which to engage with it.
We love that the farm is the experience, not just the backdrop. Goat yoga, sheepdog demos, and rainbow eggs for sale. The hut is simple because the surrounding farm does the heavy lifting.
