The farm’s only restricted areas are those with cattle. Huckleberry and Finn, the resident donkeys, are generally shy but welcome biscuits. Children can enjoy swings, a trampoline, and field dens, and families can borrow available bikes and a bike trailer.

The area surrounding the cabin is a hidden gem, perfect for exploring notable sites such as Lough Key Forest Park, the town of Boyle, Boyle Abbey, King House, Drummanone Dolmen, and the Carrowkeel passage tombs. Outdoor enthusiasts can delve into the caves of Keash or walk around lesser-known lakes and woodlands like Clontykilla woods. Fishing is accessible at Boyle river or Lough Gara, while cycling country lanes can offer additional adventure.

For evening entertainment, guests can either cosy up in the cabin with local literature or visit Boyle for dining and a few pints. For lively nightlife, Carrick on Shannon is only 12 km away.
