Bramble Hut offers a charming glamping experience on the edge of Poldice Valley, perfect for a relaxing Cornish retreat. The hand-built shepherd’s hut is set in a secluded corner of a family garden, providing privacy with high bushes, Cornish hedging, and fruit trees.
Equipped for year-round comfort, the fully insulated hut features a wood burner and wood-burning oven. Guests can enjoy starry nights from a wood-fired hot tub. The surrounding area is ideal for dog walkers and cyclists, with the coast-to-coast trail leading to Portreath beach just a 45-minute cycle away.
Bramble Hut is conveniently located: 6 miles from Truro, 8 miles from Falmouth, and 5 miles from the nearest beach. It also offers easy access to the A30 for destinations like Landsend, St Ives, and the Eden Project. Essential amenities include a full-sized double bed, ensuite shower, and toilet, as well as a kitchen area with a sink, fridge/freezer, electric hob, and basic cooking utensils. Additional features include a wood burner, under-bed storage, board games, and an outdoor decking area with seating.
Wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the frequent visits from owls, bats, birds of prey, hedgehogs, and a woodpecker. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, though they must stay off the furniture and bed—guests should bring a dog bed.
Guest parking is available for one car, with a bus stop nearby offering routes to Redruth and Truro train stations. The village of St Day, with shops and pubs, is a 10-minute walk away.
Note: The hut is accessed via three steps and may not suit those with mobility issues. The hot tub takes up to three hours to heat, with a first net of logs provided; additional logs can be purchased. There is no Wi-Fi but a decent mobile signal.
