Rural cabin with views of the stars
- £101/Per Night
Description
Bluehill Cabin, a repurposed pig shed, offers a serene and private retreat surrounded by natural beauty. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, it is an ideal base for walking, mountain biking, and relaxation, with nearby forest tracks, mountain roads, and the beaches of Cardigan Bay, Aberaeron, and New Quay, known for dolphin spotting and water sports, just 30 minutes away. The cabin features a telescope for stargazing or admiring the Welsh Hills, and a Fire-Pit/BBQ for evening enjoyment.
The cabin, suited for two adults but accommodating up to two young children with prior notice, includes a double bed and a small double sofa bed. The sitting room offers splendid valley views, while the fully-equipped kitchen contains all essential appliances. The compact bathroom, though possibly tight for taller or larger guests, provides all necessities.
Nestled at the foot of tall pine trees, the cabin boasts uninterrupted views of the Ceredigion hills. Guests can enjoy Welsh Art displayed in the cabin, created from recycled slate by the host, with more artwork available in the on-site Art Studio. The cabin provides a peaceful stay, although occasional farm work may occur, offering guests a front-row seat to hay and haylage production.
Featuring a new hut for year-round Fire-Pit/BBQ use from March 2024, the property includes a bucket of logs, kindling, and firelighters. Friendly farm animals, including horses, free-range chickens, cats, and a Labrador, enhance the rural experience. The cabin’s location necessitates personal transport, with good 4G connectivity and WiFi available in the Studio/Office. Guests can enjoy tranquil dark skies for stargazing and secured storage for motorbikes and bicycles. Note that electric vehicle charging is unavailable. Check-in is after 3pm.
What We Love:
We love Bluehill Cabin’s transformation from a pig shed to a rustic hideaway with breathtaking valley views, stargazing, and close proximity to Cardigan Bay’s activities.
