The Peacock is a distinctive tiny house perched above the stunning Saddleworth hills, offering breathtaking valley views. This custom-built, brand-new shepherd’s hut is ensconced within a private field shared with just one other hut, approximately 30ft apart, each featuring its own fenced, dog-friendly outdoor area. Ideal for groups, it boasts luxurious amenities in a spacious double-height design, including a mezzanine sleeping area with a king-sized bed and premium Emma mattress, a plush dining/lounging area with a smart TV, and a fully-equipped kitchen with a hob, extractor, dishwasher, microwave, and wine chiller. A full bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, and shaving point completes the accommodations.

The Peacock’s access is via a gravelled path through a field with parking on hard standing. Guests may encounter the property’s free-roaming ducks, adjacent horses, and local wildlife such as pheasants, partridge, rabbits, hares, badgers, and birds of prey like sparrowhawks, owls, and the occasional red kite. The property features hot and cold running water and an on-demand boiler. Note that Dutch steps lead to the mezzanine bed, potentially unsuitable for those with mobility issues.

Guests don’t incur a standard cleaning fee, and up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small surcharge (£12 per stay), although they must not be left unattended. WiFi is provided via 4G, which can occasionally falter in bad weather. The property’s 30 acres are available for exploration upon request, and specific areas for dogs to run off-lead are offered. However, XL Bully or other illegal dog breeds are not permitted.
