The Forest Den is a newly renovated rural retreat set within 1.5 acres in the heart of the Ashdown Forest, offering direct access to the iconic 100 Acre Wood from AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh. As probably the closest accommodation to the Poohsticks Bridge, it provides a cosy getaway with modern comforts. The Den features a studio cottage with a luxury lounge and sleep area, including a brand-new orthopaedic double bed with feather plume bedding and cotton sheets. Guests will find a fully equipped studio kitchen with twin hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and sink, as well as a spacious separate outdoor bathroom with a hot shower and toilet.

The property ensures guest safety with thorough cleaning protocols, including antibacterial wipes and sprays and cleaning linens at 60 degrees with Dettol antibacterial solution. Outside, guests can relax in the apple orchard and field, and there is gated parking available with free forest tours upon request. New for 2022, The Forest Den has introduced three friendly alpacas—Falko, Delta, and Buttons—that guests can meet upon request.

The accommodation includes a flat-screen HD TV and DVD player, and although the WiFi may be slow due to the rural location, it is available. From November 2022, parking charges will be introduced in the Ashdown Forest, but The Forest Den offers free forest parking with direct access to the area’s scenic walks. The property is also home to two dogs and three cats that roam freely, contributing to the charming rural atmosphere.
